The lighter weight Asics Gel DS Trainer 14 running shoe has inspired its shape from the most popular version, the Asics DS 7. For the first time the Asics DS Trainer has been widened in the midfoot to enable a more aggressive, gender specific, space trusstic improving the stability in the midsole re-categorising it as a structured shoe. Whilst the midsole has been lowered by 1mm than the previous model, the outsole is 2mm thicker. Despite the broad change, the weight of the shoe has been reduced to a very minimal 10.2oz. The inside of the forefoot contains a Wet-Grip portion to improve traction on the road.
